Job Title: Accounts Payable

Summary Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inputs vendors’ invoices for payment.
Checks and approves all vouchers for payment.
Answers vendor inquiries.
Prepares accounts payable checks daily and weekly.
Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
Reviews vendor statements on a monthly basis.
Researches vendor credit memos
Works with purchasing agent to resolve any problems relating to vendors’ invoices/packing slips.
Closes and receives Po’s.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of QuickBooks, Email and Internet, Excel and Microsoft WORD.
